About The Event
https://www.ifaconf.ngo/Our strategic framework, “Taking the NWU forward – 2024 and beyond” aligns with the vision of the IFA in aiming to explore new frontiers and opportunities that benefit society, including both current and future generations of healthy older people. We continue to approach conference themes through the action areas and enablers of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing.
Central to this vision is the commitment to manage demographic diversity comprehensively. This includes addressing cultural differences, age structures, diverse generations and gender identities to create an inclusive environment that celebrates the richness of the human experience.
As we gather here to deliberate, plan, and take action, we recognise the significance of our collective efforts in shaping a better future for current and future generations of older persons. This conference provides a vital platform for exchanging ideas, fostering collaboration, and driving meaningful change.
The mission of the IFA 17th Global Conference is clear: to create a platform that influences and shapes policy through the sharing of knowledge generated through innovative and cutting-edge research; to foster focused engagement with the community; and to discover new frontiers and opportunities. We strive to enhance our relevance and impact in addressing the pressing challenges of our time.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt welcome to each of you. May your time here be fruitful, inspiring, and filled with meaningful discussions that pave the way for a brighter future for all ages.
Yours sincerely,
Graeme Prior, President, The International Federation on Ageing
and
Prof. Mzubanzi Bismark Tyobeka (PhD, Penn State University), Principal and Vice-Chancellor, North-West University, South Africa, Knight of the National Order of Merit, French Republic.
